Hi AB members,
It is personally my first time doing overseas project and indeed challenging as we spent nearly 2.5 hours searching, grabbing, packing and loading provisions we need. Admin Kochun made a "special ambush"appearance at one of the homes, however due to the delay at the supermarket, we failed to capture a glimsp of him. A total of RM7000+ worth of groceries were done.
Thanks to ex-admin Newaluboy and together with another 2 KL friends. we made our way easily to the 3 homes. We were welcomed warmly by the hosts and were allowed to go real close to the kids. It was emotional for some of us as we witnessed ourselves how the disabled and brain injured children lay helplessly on the hard floor, trying very hard to communicate with us when we gave them the goodie bags. Words of encouragement were given. Underprivileged adults were also sitting there staring at the sky as they too received goodies bags made by my family.
This visit make us cherish even what we had and not to take anything for granted.
Nevertheless, mission accomplished with great help from fellow volunteers, danielsim who flew with me from Singapore and KL members, Newaluboy, weh and Simon.
We had a good amount of saving due to many items on promotion and we have no more spaces on our vehicles to carry on buying. Surplus of cash will be roll over to our next event.
